Position Overview

AAPC is seeking a Lead React Developer to spearhead our front-end development efforts. This role is ideal for a highly skilled developer with leadership capabilities, who is eager to mentor a team, set technical direction, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders while remaining hands-on in coding and architecture.

The ideal candidate thrives in both leadership and development, ensuring best practices, driving innovation, and guiding the team toward high-performance web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Strategy

· Define and implement best practices in front-end development, ensuring scalable, high-performing web applications.

· Set technical direction and architecture for React-based applications, integrating with headless CMS and eCommerce platforms.

· Stay ahead of industry trends and proactively recommend improvements to technology and processes.

Hands-On Development

· Architect, develop, and maintain React applications with Next.js.

· Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in TypeScript and JavaScript.

· Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, and scalability.

· Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate designs into seamless user experiences.

Team Mentorship & Collaboration

· Lead and mentor front-end developers, conducting code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

· Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability within the team.

· Work cross-functionally with product owners, marketing, UX designers, and backend developers to align development goals.

Code Quality, Testing & Deployment

· Ensure high code quality through unit and integration tests.

· Establish code review standards and enforce best practices in Git workflows.

· Debug and resolve complex technical issues with an analytical approach.

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Have:

· 5+ years of React development experience with a strong understanding of hooks, context, and performance optimizations.

· Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Next.js (v14.x+), and Storybook.

· Expertise in integrating with RESTful APIs & GraphQL.

· Experience working with headless CMS (Contentful).

· Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and Jira.

· Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and modern front-end tooling (Webpack, Turbopack, NPM).

· Experience in CI/CD pipelines, Git version control (Github), and automated testing.

· Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to lead a team.

· Strong attention to detail while maintaining the ability to grasp abstract concepts and the broader strategic vision.

Bonus Skills:

· Experience with leveraging search platforms (Algolia).

· CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce) integrations.

· Prior BigCommerce enterprise-level project experience is a strong plus.

· Familiarity with A/B testing (VWO), analytics (Google), and performance monitoring tools (New Relic).

· Experience working with a CDP (Rudderstack)
